First, let's me make it clear for some of you... If Philosophy is one of the subjects that you hate.., you should stop reading after this paragraph; below is going to be something relate to philosophy, and becoz I hate it too, so I understand how you feel toward this. I force to take this class is becoz it's one of the requirement class in my school.

Actually, the title of my philosophy class is Philosophy of Human Person.
This is a second course of philosophy in my school; base on my understanding from the first day of class is that the professor tried to discuss about the difference between "a human being" and "a person", and this will extend into the three main branches of philosophy: metaphysics (the study of being qua being. i.e. What are we? ), epistemology (the study of knowledge. i.e. What can we know?, and axiology (the study of value. i.e. What should we do?.........You can look it up in the online dictionary for more detail.

Basically, this class is going to define questions like>>>>>>> What is a person? What, in other words, makes for a "who"? Why might it be important to know? how might we go about fining out? Or What is a human being? For the difference between a human and a person.. my professor pointed out that "a person can't vote and only human can vote because only humans have status in the society." I got no reason to say he is wrong since he has his Ph.D in philosophy, but I don't agree with this either.

I don't believe philosophers are very smart people., most of them are people who good at study and love the studies.. According to one philosophy article I used to read, they said "Philosophy can turn people to be smart, becoz if we want to be the smart people, we have to persuade other that we are right." Although this a true concept, but this is some sort of cheating.!! Something wrong is wrong.. Even you can make people believe what you are saying is right, but one day they will find it out anyway.

Overall, I would suggest take the advantage of philosophy class to help you improve your argument skill, and not to change the wrong thing to be the right!!
